Colorado Rockies sign free agent pitcher Mike Dunn to a three year contract

Welcome everyone to another sports blog for Thursday. The subject matter is former Miami Marlins left handed relief pitcher Mike Dunn, 31, to a three year $19 million dollar contract according to a report from the Denver Post.Dunn became a free agent at the end of the 2016 Major League Baseball season when  his contract with the Miami Marlins expired. The Marlins were interested in signing Dunn to a new contract before the Rockies were able to reach an agreement with the left handed relief pitcher who has pitched in the Major Leagues with the New York Yankees in 2009, the Atlanta Braves in 2010 and the Miami Marlins from 2011-2016.One reason that Dunn signed his three deal with the Rockies is that he will replace Boone Logan who is currently a free agent on the Rockies roster.Dunn will likely be working as a left handed relief pitching specialist during his tenure with the Colorado Rockies who finished in third place in the National League West Division standings with a record of 75 wins and 87 losses which was 16 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers that won the division with a record of 91 wins and 71 losses in the 2016 Major League Baseball season.A left handed relief pitcher is a very important part of any team in the Major Leagues in this era.
