Hello everyone to the next sports blog for Saturday. The subject matter is Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton who according to his head coach Ron Rivera is expected to be his starting quarterback when the Panthers (5-8) will be taking on the Washington Redskins (7-5-1) at FedEx Field in Landover Maryland on Monday Night Football.Newton has been bothered by a shoulder injury on his throwing arm this week during the practice sessions.Newton has been listed as questionable on the National Football League injury report.The Panthers who entered the 2016 National Football season as the defending National Football Conference Champions after winning their third straight National Football Conference South Division title are now tied with the New Orleans Saints for last place in the division.On the other hand the Washington Redskins are currently are in the hunt to make it to the playoffs as a wild card one game behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-5) and New York Giants (9-4).The Panthers will likely be out of playoff contention by the time the game is played will have two incentives to beat the Redskins. One reason is to play for a non losing season and the other reason is to play the role of spoiler versus the Redskins.Another interesting reason this game will have meaning.
