Welcome everyone to another sports blog for Wednesday. The subject matter in question is New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett who has no plans to sign a contract extension with the Super Bowl LI champions before the start of free agency that begins next month.Bennett is willing to test the free agent market to see if another football team in the National Football League is willing to pay him his market value as a member of the Super Bowl champions.I seriously doubt his decision to seek a larger paycheck playing for another football team has anything to do with his refusal to visit President Donald Trump in the White House due to their political differences. What I know of football players who sports fans who have a better look at the inner workings of professional football is that when a football player enters the free agent market, it is his right to seek the highest paycheck available from either his current football team or another one that is willing to pay him his market value salary.Bennett who has played football for the Dallas Cowboys from 2008-2011, New York Giants in 2012, Chicago Bears from 2013-2015 and the New England Patriots in 2016 has earned the right to bid goodbye to the Patriots as a free agent if another team is willing to meet his salary demands as a free agent. If Bennett does leave the Patriots to play football for another team, I am sure that the Patriots management can find his replacement in 2017.News sources are NFL Media and NBC Sports.
